This is a wonderful walker for very young children as it is heavy enough so the child won’t fall down. On the other hand it is difficult to tun, but my daughter doesn’t seem to care (almost 11 MO old). She stops and turn it while seating. She loves to bang it on the door (very noisy). The wheels are very silent on the floor. She likes when a cat (or a friend or a stuff animal) seats on it. She puts many things in it (blocks, duplo, … and goes around). The great thing that I have noticed is that with this walker (contrarily to the plastics one of the playgroups) she stands up straight when she walks. I think she feels secure and she knows that it won’t flip over.

An outstanding toy! With all the warnings against baby walkers I wanted to be certain this would cause no developmental delays or safety issues. The HABA Discovery push wagon is ideal because your child can walk or crawl freely while pushing the wagon and is not forced to assume any particular posture that would harm their development. The wagon itself is very sturdy, birch plywood painted with non-toxic dyes, well weighted at 12 lbs. and not prone to tipping. Sometimes my daughter will ride it “chariot style” standing backwards in the seat while being pushed. I realize this is not recommended but we are very careful. At first she could not see over the seat back while pushing and she didn’t know where she was going but she soon grew out of this. She was content to push the wagon from behind while crawling. For added interest Haba has adorned the wagon with numerous activities and engaging colors. We noticed a dimming and scratching on the mirror that was actually a piece of clear plastic stuck on to protect the mirror. We pulled it off and the non-glass mirror was nice and shiny. We were considering the Haba Wagon with the blue seat but read the reviews that it left blue marks on the walls. The design of the Haba Discovery wagon is nearly perfect except for the trade off on visibility with the higher seat back. It is a lovely toy, durable, non-toxic and finely crafted.

Great walker. Wanted a simple walker that did not require batteries or had a bunch of activities on it. We already have plenty of toys, so we just needed something sturdy to teach our 11 months old how to walk. He loves the walker and climbs all over it every day. It is very sturdy, he can pull himself up on the handle from the floor without it tipping over. Unfortunately he climbs onto the seat standing up and holding on to the handle but hasn’t fallen over as the walker is well balanced. The only slight drawback is that it doesn’t turn easily so I have to supervise and help him when he reaches an obstacle. Some reviewers wrote that the wheels squeak, and they do a little. It comes from the friction of the axels on the wood, but nothing bad that would prevent me from buying again if faced with the choice.

The price is a little high compared to all the plastic varietys on the market, but the nice thing is that the walker can be used as a “wagon” long beyond him being able to walk. In fact our 4 year old is also loving it and pushing the little one around in it. Shipping was swift and the walker came fully assembled except the handle was folded forward for shipping so it had to be pushed back and top screw tightened. It took about 5 minutes (wich included getting the wrench). Ultimately I based my decision for buying the Haba walker over other wood products on my prior experiences with toys from this company. They are safe (paint, construction) and always very well made.

We original bought for our activity 9 month old! But it has turned into a favorite for his five year old sister! Our nine month cries if we try to pull him out of the seat! Great storage for pet cats, small dogs, baby, dolls, puppet, and stuff animals! OUr five year old fashioned a seat belt our of two of her belts! and attached a cat toy string! Great play toy for sister and brother! And endless entertainment and laughs for mommies and daddies!
